Lead Denim Designer
The Company
This is an exciting opportunity to join a large manufacturer of Denim apparels (Menswear mainly but also womens and kidswear). Their products are sold across the world including in the US markets to brands and retailers including GAP, Tommy, Levis, American Eagle etc.
They are seeking a lead Denim Designer who is based in the US (West Coast preferred). The role is to design collections and present to customers in the US. The role is 100% remote based.
Lead Denim Designer: The Role:
- Create and develop product designs tailored to the company's customer base.
- Creating on-trend, forward-thinking yet commercial denim wear designs across mens, ladies and kids.
- Researching lifestyle trends and blogs, being on top of trends and themes. Implementing direction and innovation for the season across design, fabric and trims.
- Presenting collections to buyers
- Representing the business at international fairs and crucial customer meetings
- Communicating effectively with all internal and external teams.
- Work closely with internal teams and guide overseas design and development teams on denim fabrics and garments and in sample development
Lead Denim Designer: The Candidate
- Experienced in Denim design, previous experience in working with volume retailers or big brands is a definite plus
- You will have deep customer relationships or a strong working experience with big denim retailers and brands
- You will have a great eye for trends, with excellent CAD and illustration skills
- You will have a strong understanding of the current trends and the ability to look forward and anticipate new trends.
- You will have experience in presenting stories, concepts, inspirations, and designs to Buyers
- You will be trend-driven and be able to drive product development with a commercial eye for newness.
The position is 100% remote. But the person needs to be based in the US (West Coast preferred). The role involve frequent travel to meet buyers.
