Global Sourcing Director

A large and successful fashion retailer is seeking a Global Sourcing Director to manage their sourcing function.

Turning over in excess of $3bn a year, the business has over 500 physical stores in addition to a successful e-commerce platform. The retailer sells branded as well as white label fashion products including apparel (men, ladies and kids), accessories (footwear, jewellery, soft accessories etc), and home furnishings. The sourcing team of 200 works mainly with factories in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, SriLanka, India, Myanmar. 

The Global Sourcing Director is part of the core leadership team, responsible for product and production (margins, quality and delivery). You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding the target margins whilst maintaining quality and timely delivery.  

Global Sourcing Director - The Role:

• To develop and deliver a Global Sourcing Strategy;
• Responsibility for identifying and setting a standard of excellence and best practice for the team to strive for;
• Supervise the master database of factories and their capabilities
• Develop process and practice to improve sourcing, constantly striving to source better information 
• Enable the team to build strong relationships with factories, be on top of any looming issues 
• Drive regular departmental reviews, ensuring coordination across departments in terms of products, price, quality, production and delivery;
• Ensuring that the product reflects the brand 
• Develop inter department collaboration between product development, merchandising, design 
• Constantly analyse/audit supply base, in order to identify risks and opportunities and to develop solutions 
• Leading, managing and motivating teams to achieve all Company and divisional KPIs
• Attend commercial & trading meetings as required;
• Analyse trading patterns and takes responsibility for communicating findings to the team

Global Sourcing Director : The Candidate

• Strong experience as a Sourcing Director/leader of multi-product fashion categories within the value sector
• The ideal candidate needs to already be operating at management level and have a strong career in sourcing across multiple product categories within fast fashion
• Have experience in managing large teams
• Deep knowledge factory base in the far east and first hand relationships with owners 
• Negotiation/influencing skills
• Effective people management, team building and strong communication skills
• Confident presentations skills with excellent attention to detail
