Divisional Merchandise Manager
The Business
Our client is a large multinational buying house with operations in Bangladesh, India, China, Vietnam, Turkey etc. Turning over $300M, they specialise in apparel, accessories and footwear selling to retailers in the U.S and Europe.
They are seeking an experienced Divisional Merchandise Manager to join their growing business in Tirupur.
Divisional Merchandise Manager - The Role:
- Manage a team of 8-10 merchandisers
- Responsible for the overall wholesale production process from order to delivery
- Work closely with the buyers and their teams on specifications, price, delivery
- Source and negotiate with factories to ensure quality, delivery, business margins
- Overall responsibility of critical path management for the team including product/sample development activities, follow-up/coordination with PD /buyers/counterparts
- Handle stakeholders (buyers, in-house management, factories) independently by leading the team
- Liaise with multiple buyers/buying teams at a time independently. Be on top of details - numbers, critical path and production processes
- Continuous and effective communication with buyers and their team with sampling to shipment with regular updates.
- Oversee shipping/logistics with liaison with forwarder, shipping agent etc
Divisional Merchandise Manager - The Person:
- Strong experience in wholesale merchandising/production processes
- Good knowledge of costings
- Experience in negotiation with buyers and factories
- Experience in working with U.S or European buyers/customers
- Able to manage a team
- Experience in stakeholder management with regular reporting to in-house management
