Country Head - Bangladesh and India

Our client is looking for an experienced professional to head their Bangladesh sourcing hub. 

For this role you will need to have a strong multi-product apparel background across Ladies , Mens and Kidswear, working with or for Value Retailers as well as a solid experience in Bangladesh.

This opportunity will suit someone who is entrepreneurial and can manage a large team. 

Country Head: The Role:

• P&L & budget planning responsibility for Bangladesh sourcing hub

• Managing overall business operations in Bangladesh
• Supervising all the departments such as Merchandising, Operations, QA, Finance, HR etc
• All aspects of production, quality, compliance and delivery. It is essential to be able to maintain discipline within the factory base ensuring timely deliveries to agreed quality standards. 
• Manage support functions - administration, finance, management control and human resources. Strong country knowledge to ensure compliance with local laws
• Optimize and streamline operational costs 

• Lead contract and price negotiation with vendors/factories

• Introduction and onboarding of factories to match the demands of the business

• Problem solving at the grass root level, understanding and foreseeing issues at an early stage and immediately acting upon them to minimise inefficiencies (OTIF), rejection rates.

• Strong country knowledge with ability to plan ahead and mitigate risk

• Develop and leverage strategic business relationships with vendors/suppliers/factories in Bangladesh & India.
• Align sourcing process outcomes with the overall organizational goal and strategy

• Strong apparel value retail sourcing 
• Excellent knowledge & experience in apparel manufacturing and production process
• Extensive experience of working in Bangladesh
• Strong country knowledge with ability to plan ahead and mitigate risk
• Strong local knowledge to ensure compliance with local laws
• Ability to think strategically, drive innovation and market leading ideas
• Excellent commercial awareness and P&L Management
• Strong people management and leadership 
• Good interpersonal, influencing & organisational skills
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, quickly and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills & fluent in English - written & verbal
