This is an opportunity for creative and commercial Senior Multi product Womenswear Designer to join a fast growing private label business based in West London. My client specialises in young, feminine woven and knitted garments catering to the younger segment of the ladieswear market. Their products are well represented through their own concessions in leading department stores such as House of Fraser, Debenhams, John Lewis and others.

Due to strong growth they are seeking a talented senior designer to join their growing team in London.

Senior Designer- Womenswear Multi product: about the role:

• Be responsible for working across multi products on both shape & design, working alongside buying teams in research, design and development of commercial fashion ranges from initial concept to production.
• Identify future trends in woven’s & knits within the fast fashion industry for the targeted customer base
• Create initial trend/story boards with colour palettes in conjunction with buying team
• Re-interpret and develop inspirational designs & samples based on catwalk styles.
• Be able to source fabrics / trims etc for the required designs.
• Research & source suppliers for fabrics, trims to accommodate the design collection whilst working on price effective margins.
• Comparative shopping analysis / Compiling Competitors trend reports for the UK & Europe markets.
• Create technical garment specification drawings for buyers trend packs
• Travel to relevant fashion and trade shows as well selected shopping trips with buyers
• Seek out and discover new product types and new categories that can be introduced to make the range stand out from the crowd even more.
• As well as the creative side, you’ll get the chance to be involved in range meetings and presenting them to the rest of the team and Buyers.
• You will be involved in production and technical areas for your range; attending fit meetings, sourcing suppliers / fabrics etc, liaising with factories to deal with any issues and monitoring the Critical Path from design to production.
• Travel to suppliers / factories based in china & Europe.

The ideal candidate will

• Have strong womenswear multi product ( wovens, knits/jersey-knits) experience within mainstream UK high street product areas- dresses, soft separates, outerwear, etc, either within a brand/retailer or supplier/manufacturer
• Have a commercial eye for trends
• Be internationally focussed 
• Be able to work to tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment
