This is an opportunity for an experienced garment technologist to  join a well established denim supplier (global). With a turnover of over £60 million, our client has a strong foothold on the UK high street, selling into customers like Tesco, George, Sainsburys, Primark, etc.

Due to strong growth, the technical team is currently looking to add a senior garment technologist to their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in 3D fits in particular, working with 3d softwares focussed on the denim category. The technologist is quite a key appointment to the business as they will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of their largest customer accounts.

Garment Technologist: Denim: The role:

• Ensuring that garments are being produced to the required quality standard and that manufacturing is measured within tolerance.
• Using 3D technology for fits, etc and working with customer technical team on fits
• Discussing new designs with the design department and Merchandisers and helping to decide on the best way to manufacture them.
• Working out size specifications and planning how new garments will be made up by producing initial and graded size charts.
• Monitoring the production of sample garments and initiating any changes to the designs to fit manufacturing requirements.
• Liaising with customers and clients and working with the Far East Factories and High Street stores.
• Liaising with colleagues with regards to ideas and changes that can be made to improve the garment.
• Travelling to far east factories as and when needed

Garment Technologist-Denim: The ideal candidate:

• You will have a few years experience working as a technologist within denims within a high street supplier or retailer.
• You must have 3D fits experience
• You will be commercial, switched on and savvy, be confident in dealing with  customers

The role is based here in the UK and you have the liberty to work from home and travel when needed. We are happy to consider freelance or permanent candidates for the job.
