Garment Technologist

This is an opportunity to  join a very internationally focussed London based multi product supplier. With a turnover of over £180 million, our client has a strong foothold in the UK market. 

Due to strong growth, the technical team is currently looking to add a garment technologist to their sourcing team in Dhaka. The technologist is quite a key appointment to the business as they will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of their largest customer accounts including Joules.

You could come from general apparels background, be it menswear, kidswear, womenswear or accessories, either  from a supplier or a retailer.

Responsibilities

• Measuring samples in preparation for fit meetings
• Manage the technical critical path by keeping the approval timescales up to date.
• QC inspections and reporting 
• Liaising with customers with all aspects from sample preparation, fit notes, technical critical path, inspection reports etc

Job Description:

Responsible for sample tracking, measuring and prepping samples, you will be very organised and have great time management, as well as knowing the priorities in the department.

• Measure and prepare samples coming into the business
• QC inspections and reporting 
• Assist with arranging reprocessing of rejected goods when necessary
• Proactively provide support to the Technical and Production team as required
• Assist with maintaining Production workbooks
• Attend weekly production and technical team meetings
• Update the progress tracker with sample approval dates

The ideal candidate

• You will have a few years experience working as a technologist within a high street supplier or retailer.
• You will have managed customer relationships especially with mid market retailers such as Joules
• You will be commercial, switched on and savvy, be confident in dealing with difficult customers
