This is an opportunity for a Head of Compliance to join a mid-sized fashion business in London. Our client is a successful supplier of apparels and accessories, with a diverse factory base primarily in the far east including Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and India. 

Head of Compliance: The role:

You will be responsible for:

• All social compliance, technical compliance and security compliances , ensuring factories meet standards as required by retailers like George, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Primark, Next, C&A , etc
• Driving continuous improvement of standards and project management of compliance projects specific to customers
• Lead sustainability initiatives across the supply chain to include material and chemical management
• All compliance related management across factories in Bangladesh, China, Turkey, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India etc
• Ensuring that the team is upto speed with SEDEX/BSCI reporting and standards
• Strategic goal setting for compliance function to support new business initiatives and expansion plans, be it in setting up new sourcing arms, or expanding into new product areas and customers

Head of Compliance: The person:

The ideal person will 

• Be experienced in all aspects of compliance management within the apparel and fashion sector, either within retail or manufacturing sectors
• Have strong management experience and leadership skills
• Have solid knowledge of factories all over Asia 
• Be skilled technically when it comes to knowledge of fabric and garments
• Have a global mindset as the role involves working across several countries in UK, Europe and Asia, and managing cross functional teams across these countries
• Be eligible to live and work in the UK
