Company:
A successful distributor and retailer of branded apparels, based in West London, are seeking a dynamic merchandiser to join their team. The role reports to Head of Planning.
This role will suit someone in their early career who is analytical, strong with numbers and confident in Excel.
Main responsibilities:
Junior Merchandiser will support the Planning function in recording and reporting inventory levels, forecast demands based on past trends and analyse sales with the aim to maximise turnover across retail, wholesale and partner D2C channels.
Junior Merchandiser will also support with data administration and reporting.
Junior Merchandiser: The Role:
Buying and Merchandising:
- Assist in seasonal forward buys across all brands where needed, from range planning stage though to on-time submission to brand.
- Where relevant manage the process for in-season call offs, securing sufficient stock for sales order book coverage and optimum in-season sales.
- Collaborate with Sales and key customers to ensure replenishment is placed in a timely manner as per the Replenishment Plan set in place.
Retail Store Planning:
- Analyse sales data to help optimise stock levels and manage inventory, avoiding overstock or stockouts.
- Action and own replenishment of all stores, collaborating with the Operations Team to ensure deliveries are on time and reflective of the trading calendar.
- Analyse MINs/stock levels in stores to ensure the stores are receiving the right product in the right quantities.
Stock Management:
- Optimise forward buys based on available data and supplier flexibility.
- Maximise in-season trade for appropriate inventory allocation.
- Work with Head of Planning to regularly review stock on hand position, collaborate on stock clearance strategies with Sales ensuring stock levels are always optimised.
Reporting:
- Update and report on Retails Brands in time for the Monday Retail Trade Meeting, including all commentary.
- Evaluate merchandise categories, analyse sales metrics, and prepare reports to track KPIs for actionable insights.
- Actioning replenishments weekly retail orders as per the requirements of the stores.
- Review fulfilment rates for Amazon Vendor weekly orders and action orders `where required.
- Follow the processes set in place relating to Planning function including working cross functionally interlinking process to ensure maximum efficiency.
Team:
- Report into Head of Planning and working closely with the Data Technician.
Relationship Management:
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service
- Communicate effectively with all departments and suppliers
- Obsessed with meeting customer expectations to ensure the business delivers the highest level of service
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers.

Junior Merchandiser: The Person:
- Degree level education, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a Merchandising or Buying role in a B2B or retail environment
- Proficient user of Excel and all other MS Office programs and knowledge of ERP systems (BrightPearl preferred)
- Highly numerical
- Strong analytical ability
- Commercial awareness
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to multi-task, deal with a high volume of tasks and ability to prioritise, to ensure results are delivered on time within tight deadlines
- Confident team member with the ability to work on own initiative
