Description

A small and successful fashion brands (apparel) business is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join their business in West London.

The business sells fashion brands like GANT and Barbour to independents in the UK as well as sell them through their own retail outlets within large Department Stores. 

The role will suit someone in their early career, who is comfortable to harness the powers and capabilities of Microsoft Excel, is agile to move across small systems like Xero, be comfortable to import and export data across systems and work with them. 

The business is based in West London. They offer hybrid working (two days from office). Salary - £40K

Accounts Assistant: The Role:

  • Invoice processing. Non-stock and stock related invoices. Ensuring stock invoices are reconciled against purchase orders and any discrepancies are handled.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Following up for invoice approvals
  • Weekly Accounts Payable Report
  • Ensuring any supplier queries are handled
  • Processing supplier payments and issuing remittances on Xero
  • Issuing payment files for payments
  • Processing staff and credit card expenses 
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports including weekly sales and margin report 
  • Weekly Retail Reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation of month end 
  • Support the finance & retail team with any other ad-hoc tasks and provide general administrative support

 Accounts Assistant: The Person:

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent numerical skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 2 years + experience in a similar role
  • Retail / Wholesale experience preferred
  • Knowledge & experience of accruals, prepayments, debits & credits etc
  • Excel skills – Intermediate required ieX-Lookups, Pivots, Formulas
  • Xero experience preferred

Skills: Attention to detail, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, strong organisation skills, able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines, ability to work independently and in a team
