A successful womenswear brand in Australia is seeking an expat Buyer to join their growing team. The brand caters to the premium end of the mass market, with a focus on affordable luxury.
Based in Australia, you will be responsible in creating product collections focusing on Dresses and work collaboratively with the Merchandising team. You will review trade, identify opportunities and be ahead of the trends. As a key member of the buying team, you will be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, be creative and ahead of the trends, review trade and identify opportunities.
The role is based overseas offering a highly competitive salary and relocation package. This company does support relocation for partners and / or dependents if necessary.
Buyer: The Role:- Develop and deliver the Buying strategy for the womenswear dresses category.
- Work closely with the Designer(s) to bring product to life that meets the needs of the customer whilst remaining brand relevant. You will be responsible for collection planning of your category
- Ensure you have your finger on pulse of emerging trends and the ability to adapt these accordingly to their customer base.
- Presenting key best sellers and trade opportunities in weekly Trade meetings, in an affective and to the point manner.
- Responsible for the sales and trade, reviewing trading opportunities and ways to increase margin in order to potentialise profit.
- Oversee the range building process for your product areas to deliver innovation, speed to market and calculated risks in new trends.
- Meeting the requirements of a balanced range from the mixes set out by the Planning department.
- Responsible for two Assistant Buyers.
Buyer: The Candidate:
- Previous experience at Buyer level across womenswear.
- Ability to foresee key trends across womenswear.
- Strong eye for detail and elevating product.
- Exceptional product knowledge and technical expertise within ladies fashion.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to present in trade and sign off's to all levels.
- Ability to coach, develop and lead a team.
- Outstanding organisational and problem solving skill.
