About the Company

Our client is a collection of brands in India (white label, private labels as well as licensed brands). They are a multi-product retailer with a large footprint in India.  They are seeking a Head of Technical (fits) who can manage their large team comprising of Garment Technologists, Fit Technicians, Pattern Makers, Sample Machinists etc.

This is an expat role. The role is in India.

Head of Technical Management: The role:

• Manage the overall technical team
• Lead with examples of best practices in fits and scale up the capability of the team
• Oversee pattern cutting and Garment Technology functions
• Manage the relationship between the Buying team and the technical team and oversee areas including pattern making, pattern grading, sample development etc
• Ensure that the Garment Technologists manage garment FIT checks correctly and share the know-how for correction of patterns
• Oversee and improve the performance of the team who run FIT meetings
• Communicate with all Technical Teams regularly to discuss development progress and share information on new initiatives/techniques
• Be the leader in all aspects related to "Garment Construction"  and "Pattern Making" and work with other functions including technical, design and product 

• Training operators to improve skill levels

Head of Technical Management: The person:

• The ideal candidate will have a Technical background having worked for a mass market brand or retailer 
• Will have strong experience in running FIT sessions and managing a large garment technology team
• Full understanding of garment construction and the use of machinery in production
• Great communication skills
