Fabric Souring and Development Manager

A large and successful retail sourcing office is seeking a talented Fabric Sourcing and Development Manager to join their team in Dhaka, Bangladesh. 

The role is to put together new and fresh collections of woven and knit fabric, source and develop the products in partnership with mills across the world (India, China, Bangladesh mainly). 

Fabric Sourcing and Development Manager: The Role:

• Interpret relevant fabrications required from trend decks and inspiration boards from in-house and customer's design teams
• Source relevant fabric from mill partners and market sources within the price bands
• Develop new products with fabric mill partners
• Expand the raw material sourcing base
• Drive product risk assessment at development / bulk stage by analysing problems and implementing solutions 
• Work closely with merchandisers and technical teams on fabric testing and QA
• Provide clear and proper handover for bulk production of selected fabrics to relevant fabric teams

Fabric Sourcing and Development Manager: The Role:

• Strong experience in Product Development and sourcing of woven and knit fabrics gained with a supplier/retail sourcing office
• Proven experience of fabric sourcing from multiple territories (Bangladesh, India, China mainly)
• Sound technical knowledge of textiles through critical analysis and interpretation of materials
• Commercial awareness
• Good communication both oral and written
• Ability to travel at short notice

The position is in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This is an expat role, so salaries will be paid in GBP and there are benefits including housing, transport, health insurance, flight back home.
