Kidswear Designer
The Company
Our client is a well established Kidswear supplier to the UK and European high streets. They design ranges from toddler to teenwear, covering multi-products including jersey, denim, woven and knitwear.
Kidswear Designer – The Role
- To work as part of the existing Design team to deliver beautifully made and commercially viable range that reflects the retailer’s identity and the company’s objectives
- To design garments, full repeat prints and other product embellishments that appeal to the retailer.
- Trend research, working closely with key high street retailers and supermarkets, attending meetings with the customers, working to briefs, designing commercial on-trend best selling ranges and working with the overseas factories.
- To play a significant part in developing the seasonal mood boards, colour palette, big ideas and innovation for each season through research of on-going and future trends, competitor benchmarking and colour analysis.
- Provide creative support during the product development process by looking for and implementing innovation in design to keep the range fresh and different.
- Handover clear and concise design and tech packs to overseas factories. Work closely with designers, Garment Tech team overseas to ensure samples fit correctly and reflect the design vision.
Kidswear Designer – The Candidate
- With a background in garment and print design you’ll be experienced in delivering trendy shapes and have a good understanding of garment construction and patterns.
- Experienced in Adobe Illustrator and a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent communicator in the spoken and written word, with accuracy and great attention to detail.
- Ability to liaise with buyers and factories. You will be working in a cross functional team
- Confident presentation skills and be commercially savvy
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
