Description
Our client is a major manufacturer of garments with factories in the far east ( China, India, Bangladesh). They are now seeking a strong and experienced merchandiser to join their sales and design office in London.

Merchandiser: The role:
You will:
-Be responsible for taking part in the individual team strategy at the beginning of each season for your customers.
-Provide your internal team with accurate data with regards to factory performance.
-Update the team on any factory information or changes that occur in season.
-Provide data on Customer processes and suggestions for improved ways of working for future business.
-Spend regular time with your retailers and ensure that you have a strong working relationship.
-Understand their processes and Critical Paths at the beginning of each season to ensure that we are as proactive as possible prior to Sign off’s
-Create a Company Critical Path for each of your retailers at the beginning of the season as soon as you have the customer dates so that you can share with the team and everyone can see exactly what part they play in this to make them happen.
-Work as part of a joined-up team within our business to share ideas and develop innovation.
-Ensure that you go Comp Shopping in the UK on a regular basis so that you are fully up to speed with your customers and our competitors.

 
Operations & Results:
·         Ensure that all Orders/CP’S are tracked and kept on time to shipment dates.
·         Flag all issues immediately to your own internal team and be as proactive as possible to suggest resolves.
·         Work closely with your factories and in country offices to ensure that the information that you are given is accurate and on time.
·         Ensure that your retailer is sent a weekly Critical Path (Ideally you will visit them at least twice a month to personally talk through this).
·         Ensure that all Lab dips and strike offs are submitted in a timely manner.
·         Be proactive and get involved with your internal team. Request strike off’s and lab dips at sample stage. Track these and work with your buying team to ensure that everything is signed off by the time the orders are raised.
·         Keep the Master Sales spreadsheets up to date and ensure that all shipped quantities are recorded and any margin slippage noted.
·         Liaise with internal team to ensure that all shipments are managed and that the customer is informed by yourself if there are any issues.
·         Strive to achieve the required shipment dates and work to realistic Critical Paths to ensure that the factory and customer are happy. 
·
         
Attend Pre-Tech Pack meetings with the team at early development stage to ensure that the Critical dates are achievable. Openly discuss factory suitability and current performance.
·         Attend Tech Pack meetings to ensure that everyone is happy with the information that is going to the factory and that they have everything that they need.
·         Attend Sample review meetings to ensure that all customer submissions are to a high standard and are as per the sample requests. Ensure that your lab dips and strike offs are ready to be submitted with the samples for sign off.
·         Attend order handover meetings to ensure that you are clear of all details, amends and what was finally booked with the buyer and the factory.
·         Raise contracts for the Factory.
·         Monitor PO’s from the customer and ensure that if there are any changes that the factory is kept fully informed at all times.
 
Merchandiser- The Person:
 
The ideal candidate will be a senior/experienced merchandiser with strong production experience either from an apparel manufacturing background or supplier background with good customer facing skills. 
 
If you have lived and worked in China/Hongkong/Bangladesh or at least worked with factories in these regions, then we will be keen to hear from you.
