A large multinational manufacturer of garments is seeking a Head of Washing for their plants in Bangladesh. 

The business has four units in Bangladesh, producing ~250,000 washes a day (Denim, Non-Denim, Garment Dyeing). The business is seeking a Head of Washing who is technologically savvy and in tune with cutting edge techniques including water and chemical conservation, sustainability and standout washes.

The position is based in Bangladesh

Head of Washing: The Role:

• Strong experience in washing techniques (wet, dry and dyeing)
• Proven expertise in R&D 
• Proven track record of improving chemical and recipe utilisation, reductions in water consumption, continuous improvements in sustainability related to washing process and garments, developments in surface modifications of fabrics to improve productivity and reduce waste
• Demonstrable experience in achieving planned production targets including achieving washing machine allocation base for different styles, follow up on hydro, dryer and washing operations as per plan
• Reduce rejection rate and improve quality
• On time delivery through effective utilisation of labour and machinery
• Ensure Compliance and safety
• Develop skills of the workforce

Head of Washing: The Person:

The ideal candidate will

• have experience in managing a cutting edge laundry/washing plant
• have experience in producing market leading washes
• have experience in managing a large production unit
• have a degree in Chemistry and be hands-on with recipe and chemical formulation
• have an interest in striving to be the best laundry in the industry
• be able to work under pressure, multi-task and communicate effectively with teams
