About the Business

A large multinational wovens manufacturer is building a new production unit in India (a green field project). The aim is to set up a c.1000 machine unit.

They are seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to come onboard to implement the project. The scope of the project is to start from scratch to running the plant. The CEO will report to the Group CEO. 

Chief Executive Officer: The Role

• Set up the Green field project (operational planning). You will be responsible for site selection, negotiating with local Government on support provisions including subsidies, support in putting together the plan together with the civil engineering team who will work on your instructions 
• Source, train and develop labour 
• Buy and install machinery (cutting, sewing, packing etc)
• Design and implement processes and work flow of manufacturing operations from Cut to Pack to ensure right quality and timely delivery.
• Manage the marketing/sales team to ensure orders for the capacity
• Plan and forecast resources and raw materials 
• Coordinate with Merchandising team to ensure timely feed to the production lines.
• Daily analysis of production, efficiency, quality and other plant reports and provide direction to teams consisting of staff from Production, Washing, Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Technical, Merchandising and Planning.
• Implementing right systems to ensure smooth functioning of the unit.
• Ensure factory meets the compliance as per technical, social and health standards.
• Ensure compliance to local laws and standards

Chief Executive Officer: The Person

• Experienced in Woven garment manufacturing
• Experienced in setting up a Green field project and ensuring a smooth running of operations
• This is a 360 degree role, where the CEO develops a fully functional unit and runs all aspects of it including marketing/sales, merchandising and operations 
• Strong planning and process skills

• Strong leadership skills
