Design Manager (Womenswear) - The Company
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supplier in the UK selling womenswear tops, skirts, dresses and outerwear; both woven and jersey to UK based retailers such as NEXT, Primark and supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s. They are looking for a talented and experienced Design Manager to join their team. The position is based in London.
Design Manager (Womenswear) - The Role
- Create and develop product designs tailored to the company's customer base.
- Creating on-trend, forward-thinking yet commercial womenswear designs.
- Researching lifestyle trends and blogs, being on top of trends and themes.
- Implementing direction and innovation for the season across design, fabric and trims.
- Communicating effectively with all internal and external teams.
- Working closely with the in-house sales and production teams along with retail Buyers.
- Overseeing the development of all sampling ensuring deadlines are met.
- Manage designers and work closely with the rest of the design team.
Design Manager (Womenswear) - The Candidate
- Experienced in Womenswear design, previous experience in working with volume retailers is a definite plus
- You will have a great eye for trends, with excellent CAD and illustration skills
- You will have a strong understanding of the current trends and the ability to look forward and anticipate new trends.
- You will have experience in presenting stories, concepts, inspirations, and designs to Buyers
- You will be trend-driven and be able to drive product development with a commercial eye for newness.
- You will be managing a team and working with other Senior designers and Designers (both office based as well as freelance)
The position is based full time in London. Hybrid working is an option.
