- Head of Retail Operations
We are recruiting a head of Retail Operations for a successful apparel brand in India. The business sells through 1000+ stores with retail sales of £1.5bn. They are seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to help them optimise their retail operations and improve productivity
This role will work closely with internal teams across multiple departments to strategize the offline retail expansion, deliver consistent customer experience and drive store P&L achievement across all stores
Head of Retail Operations: The Role:
- Lead the Retail Operations team to deliver business metrics such as EBIDTA, NPS & as well as Store KPIs (SPSF, ATS, sell through & footfall).
- Overall responsibility to manage retail budget including store overhead, staffing, and expenses. Deliver on agreed business plan and growth initiatives
- Establish & define targeted quantitative and qualitative goals for stores. Measure and support the stores to achieve their goals
- Deliver on benchmarked customer service levels and provision of retail services through timely order booking and delivery of merchandise. Liaise closely with the Head of Merchandise to optimise inventory
- Deliver on retail plan to increase inventory turnover, store profitability and improved footfall and sales conversion
- Plan and deliver on processes to improve operational efficiency at store level without compromising on effectiveness
- Support the launch of new stores as per the business plan/budget.
- Work with key cross-functional business partners within Marketing, Store Design, Operations & HR to improve retail performance and gain share of the market
- Collaborate with IT, Security, Legal and Regulatory teams to guarantee operational compliance on store safety & hygiene factors.
Head of Retail Operations: The Person:
The ideal candidate will be a Regional Manager for a large retailer such as Primark or a brand such as Uniqlo. You could also be a manager of a large store (Example: Debenhams or M&S in Oxford Street). The role will suit someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable leader with the passion to make an impact not just on their own role but across the entire business.
- A degree level or equivalent
- Experience in managing a large store or as Regional Manager of Store Operations
- Commercial awareness and the ability to relate business needs and requirements in a compelling and understandable way to the team and the wider business stakeholders.
- The leadership skills to lead a team and engage/influence multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly appraise complex situations, identify key issues and make tough, timely decisions.
- Ability to manage large teams (100+)
- The ability to work under pressure and be resilient and tenacious to get results.
- Excellent communication skills to instigate and maintain excellent working relationships with cross business stakeholders.
Package: Up to £150,000 salary plus expat benefits (accommodation, insurance, car/driver, flight tickets home).
