Sportswear Sales Manager

  • A global buying house is seeking an experienced Sportswear Sales Manager with a proven track record to grow their UK and European business
  • Customer profile: Gymshark, Umbro, Under Armour, Champion, Kappa, JD Sports, Sweaty Betty etc
  • Salary up to €75,000 plus commission 

Overview:

A global buying house is seeking a talented and experienced Sportswear Sales Manager to grow their UK and European footprint. Turning over ~$400M, the business sells sportswear to retailers in the US and Europe. The primary responsibility of the role is to introduce new accounts to the business. The Sales Manager will have design and product development support (from Turkey and Bangladesh mainly). The role will also be supported by a team of merchandisers and account managers for day to day management of the account and orders.

The ideal candidate will be someone with a track record in Business Development within Sportswear gained with either a supplier/buyer or with a Sportswear brand such as Nike, Adidas etc.

The role is remote (work from home) with regular travel to meet buyers/customers. Design, development and merchandising functions are all based overseas (across Turkey, China, Bangladesh, India etc).

Sportswear Sales Manager - The Role:

You will be responsible for

  • Working closely with buyers on product development and concept
  • Opening new doors with UK and European Sportswear retailers and brands
  • Working closely with design and technical teams based overseas
  • Presenting ranges to buyers and closing new orders
  • Building strong relationships and identifying gaps in the market
  • Leading a team of merchandisers to manage the order from sample production to bulk order delivery, working hand in hand with the sourcing team 

Sportswear Sales Manager - The Person:

The ideal candidate:

  • Will be an experienced Sales Manager with a track record in Sportswear Sales to UK and European retailers
  • Will be passionate about product and sportswear trends
  • Will have a good knowledge of product (fabrics/trends)
  • Will be adept in costings and negotiations
  • Will have strong communication skills
  • Will be a team player, be able to work cross functionally with design, product development and production functions
  • Will either come from a Sportswear brand or a supplier selling Sportswear

We are looking for someone with a passion and drive to do a good job. The role will be responsible to build long term relations with the customers.

Package: Up to €75,000 + commission
