Head of Brand Licensing
My client is a £150M fashion business and a licensee of major brands selling to UK and European high streets. The business sells apparel, accessories, toys etc across a broad portfolio of brands to small, mid sized and large retailers across Europe and the UK.
They are seeking a Head of Brand Licensing to expand their existing portfolio of brands and branch out into lifestyle brands. A strong licensing background is essential, experience in managing sizable rights with lifestyle brands would be preferred as would knowledge of the manufacturing process.
Head of Brand Licensing: The Role:
- To lead and manage the brand licensing relationships internally and externally, the main remit of the role is to grow the portfolio of brands
- Negotiate contracts independently/with the support of the MD. Liaise with the licensors, update performance and keep an eye on new developments
- To understand trend and identify new brands for license acquisition
- Develop processes and manage collating retail listings, forecasts and sales reporting for licensors
- Work closely with local marketing teams to ensure brand teams are engaged
- Update the business regularly on performance, profitability and forecasts
- To continue and maintain best in class relationships, whilst working with all internal teams with a big focus on identifying “what’s next” and seeking new opportunities, trends and pitches.
Head of Brand Licensing: The Person:
- Have experience working with a leading licensee
- Have experience in bringing on board lifestyle brands and manage them
- Excellent contract negotiation skills
- Outstanding interpersonal networking and communication skills
- Great initiative, with a self-starting hands-on attitude
- Entrepreneurial spirit, keen to drive a change culture
- Strong presentation skills
- Have the ability to effectively engage at all levels
