About the company
With a turnover of over $1 bn, my client is one of the leading global manufacturer and supplier of multi product apparels worldwide. They specialise in ladies, mens’ and kidswear across multi product areas and have been investing heavily in sourcing offices in the far east. They have strong set ups in China, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh which covers a factory base of nearly 100.
They are now seeking a talented Country Manager to oversee all technical, production, development and sourcing aspects for their China operations. The ideal candidate is someone from production and sourcing background with strong management skills.
The Country Manager will be responsible for:
-Leading China operations, team size of 20+ which includes production, sourcing, tech and design. In addition they will also be responsible for remote-managing the commercial teams here in the UK, from a customer and sales point of view.
-Laying down proper processes and systems to back up our client’s expansion plans, so that scalability and efficiency are achieved
- Problem solving at the grass root level, understanding and foreseeing issues at an early stage and immediately acting upon them to minimise inefficiencies
-Improve existing processes and systems in order to gain more visibility of communication, critical path, etc between factories and the UK offices
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with solid overall experience in production, development, sourcing and quality management either within a manufacturer or a retailer.
We are looking for a strong personality with an international mindset who has the skill sets to deal with difficult factories and stakeholders of different cultures and backgrounds.
The candidate will ideally have UK or European high street experience and have solid experience living and working in UK or Europe.
