General Manager- Sourcing office- Tirupur/India

Our client is a $100 million turnover supplier of multi product apparels worldwide.They specialise in jersey products and have been investing heavily in sourcing offices in the far east. 

They are now seeking a talented General Manager to oversee all technical, production, development and sourcing aspects for their Tirupur operations, that works with 20 factories in the area. 

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong production and sourcing background with knowledge of how sourcing offices work and most importantly has strong communication skills to be able to deal with and manage a large factory base and also a team.

The General Manager/Technical and Product Development Manager/Country Liaison Manager will be responsible for:

-Developing and strengthening the factory base in Tirupur, sourcing new factories and setting up new supply chains

-Managing all production issues and troubleshooting through the team in Tirupur in order to ensure that our client has full control over delivery and quality

-Managing the operations team on a day to day basis that includes production, technical and sourcing staff

- Problem solving at the grass root level, understanding and foreseeing issues at an early stage and immediately acting upon them to minimise inefficiencies

-Improve existing processes and systems in order to gain more visibility of communication, critical path, etc between factories and the UK offices

-All commercial aspects such as profitability, production capacity, margins, costings and negotiating the right price for the right product with the right factory

The ideal candidate will be a strong manager with at least solid experience in production, development, sourcing and quality management either working within a sourcing office or for a manufacturer. We are looking for a strong personality with an international mindset who has the skill sets to deal with difficult factories and stakeholders of different cultures and backgrounds.

The candidate MUST have UK or European high street experience and have solid experience living and working in UK or Europe. Only applicants who are eligible to live and work in the UK will be considered.
